  • Individual Therapy

    (In-Person + Telehealth)

Life is difficult! Whatever brought you here is welcome in your individual sessions. I use my expertise to help you listen more deeply to your own expertise about how to heal and resolve the issues you came to work on. You may have a clear idea about your needs and goals, or you may need time to sort that out. We will find a pace and craft a plan to help you toward better emotional well-being and more satisfying relationships with others.

  • Relational Therapy

Relationships are hard! Whether it’s a marriage, dating, or sexual partnership or struggles with family members or friends, I work with relationships of all varieties to help you resolve differences and build a more satisfying connection.

  • EMDR

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a technique that helps people to reduce and eliminate emotional distress associated with disturbing life experiences. It is highly effective for reducing panic symptoms resulting from recent single incidents, including automobile accidents, being the victim of a crime, natural disaster, or other life-threatening events. Repeated studies show that by using EMDR therapy, people can experience healing from traumas that took years to resolve.

Specialities

Religious Trauma

I specialize in working with people who have endured religious trauma and people who’ve grown up in faith-based authoritarian and repressive communities. These systems typically present fear and shame-based views of sex and gender identity, discipline of children, marital relationships, and emotional health.

The wounds are complicated and many-layered. You may have felt a deep sense of belonging, but it came at the cost of your own sense of freedom to be yourself. Common symptoms include black and white thinking, irrational beliefs, difficulty trusting yourself, low self-esteem, guilt, shame, and fear of speaking up for yourself.

My personal experience in multiple faith-based communities, coupled with 30 years of experience helping others untangle and heal from various levels of spiritual and religious wounding gives me great empathy, compassion and capacity for helping you on your road to healing and freedom.

I have an affinity for people questioning the belief system they were raised in and spiritual seekers who want spirituality to be a part of their therapy.

Therapy for Men

I have a tender spot for men. I've worked with dads of struggling adolescents and young adults, men dealing with sexual issues from addiction to exploring variants of sexual identity and arousal cycles to men coping with mid-life crises and marital dissatisfaction. If you're a man trying to figure out how to be authentically yourself and show up with compassion and strength in your many roles, I'd love to accompany you.

Pastoral + Spiritual Companionship

Navigating faith or spiritual crises and questions about meaning, purpose, and the nature of eternity are just a few topics that lead people to seek spirituality-informed counsel. Yet not everyone has a "pastor" or spiritual companion they feel safe with. While not my primary offering, I set aside a few hours in my schedule for this kind of care. Contact me for more details.
